Puri sees massive influx of devotees for Suna Besha of Lord Jagannath

Puri(By Abhishek Mohanty): On the occasion of Suna Besha (golden attire) of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, the holy city of Puri witnessed a massive influx of devotees.
Extensive security arrangements were put in place for the safety of devotees.
The rush of devotees was beyond expectation, leading to challenges in traffic management.

Odisha DGP YB Khurania  reviewed the traffic and parking arrangements. He advised the people coming to Puri to adhere to the guidelines issued by police. 

The DGP directed the police officers to place special emphasis on safety of devotees.

To keep the people visiting Puri updated about the traffic and parking related advisories or diversions, special arrangements such as sending bulk messages in Odia and English languages to the mobile numbers of residents of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and nearby areas were made.

As the parking spaces in the city were full, the devotees were advised to plan accordingly. Vehicles were diverted towards Talabania and Sterling Road.

Devotees experienced longer waiting times at Batagaon/Malatipatpur.
