Red star Cricket Club wins Excel Shield Cricket tournament 2024
Bhubaneswar (30/12/2024) : In an exciting match of the final of Excel Shield Cricket Tournament 2024, Champions Trophy held on Sunday at the St.Joseph’s High School ground in Bhubaneswar.
The Red Star Cricket Club won the Champion’s Trophy by winning the final match by 18 runs against Sahid Sporting Club.
The final match witnessed intense play between both the teams.
After winning the toss, the Red Star Cricket Club decided to bat and set a target of 181, which was difficult for Sahid Sporting team to cope with.
The week-long Excel Shield Cricket Tournament 2024, Champion’s Trophy witnessed the participations of 16 renowned under 14 Cricket Teams.
The Tournament featured daily matches in day and night format culminating in the final match and closing ceremony on 29th December 2024.
Joining as guests International Athlete and Sprinter Anuradha Biswal, Indian Karate Player Valena Valentina, Para Athlete Rakhal Kumar Sethy, Coordinator of St.Joseph’s High School Jayanti Samuel, Senior Journalist Sudarshan Chhotray, TBT Ansari, General Secretary Tamil Sangha, Journalist Goura Chandra Mohapatra, President Excel Cricket Academy Dr.Raghunath Rao and Jagannath Pradhan Senior leader of BJB gave away the awards to the Winning team and players.
It is been announced by the Excel Cricket Academy to reward the most budding Cricketer of the year of Odisha and this year Syed Tufail Ahmed was chosen for this award.
The Excel Cricket Academy proudly launched Women’s Premiere League (WPL 2025) which was officially inaugurated by International Olympian Anuradha Biswal.
This WPL 2025 would serve as a platform for young and budding girl cricketers of Odisha to perform at the highest competitive level thus nurturing and honing their skills to prepare themselves for future greater competitions.
The registration for the same shall start from 11th January 2025 in the official website of www.excelcricketacademy.com .
The Excel Cricket Academy is the vision of Srimant Suar and Kabita Suar and Coach Md.Azhad.
It aims to nurture budding Cricketing talents provide them with competitive platform and instill the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.
