Renowned Odia poet Ramakanta Rath no more

Bhubaneswar (16/03/2025): Renowned Odia poet Padma Bhushan Ramakanta Rath passed away on Sunday. He was 92. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi expressed deep grief over the demise of Ramakanta Rath. Ramakanta Ratha died at his residence in Kharvel Nagar, Bhubaneswar. Some of his notable works include Kete Dinara (1962), Aneka Kothari (1967), Sri Radha (1984) and Sri Palataka (1997). He received the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award in 1977, Saraswathi Samman in 1992 and India's third highest civilian honour, the Padma Bhushan in 2006.
