Bhubaneswar (22/08/2024): In view of the developments with respect to their demands, and concerns being addressed by the Supreme Court, the Resident Doctors' Association on Thursday declared their strike to be withheld.
The Association has requested the residents to resume services from 8 am onwards on August 23. It has been promised to us by the Health Ministry that all permissions and clearances for enhancing security measures at our institute have already been obtained and we have collectively decided to give them a timeline of 45 days for the implementation of the same.
In case of unsatisfactory progression, we will go on immediate strike, a member of the association said.. The doctors at AIIMS Delhi called off their 11-day strike protesting the rape and murder of a Kolkata doctor, following an appeal from the apex court.
The court assured no adverse action against the doctors upon resuming work. The nationwide protests started on August 12.
