SIM box racket busted in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar (16/08/2024): The Commissionerate Police on Friday busted a SIM box racket at a house in Mahadevnagar under Laxmisagar police station in Bhubaneswar. Seven SIM boxes and more than 500 SIM cards were recovered from the spot. A police team carried out a raid after receiving information about suspicious activities of a youth who had taken the house on rent. According to Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh, this equipment can be used to make international and national calls without the receiver.
The device is also used to operate several crimes including terrorist activities. A youth has been detained in this connection.
