Small charter aircraft crash-landed in Rourkela, 6 injured

Bhubaneswar (By Abhishek Mohanty): An India One Air type of aircraft (Caravan 208) bearing Regn.VT-KSS crash-landed in Sundargarh district on Saturday.

The aircraft was flying from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela.

The plane departed at 12:27 hours.
It had two pilots and four passengers.

Eight Nautical miles short of reaching Rourkela, the aircraft force landed at a place near Jalda.

Pilots ensured the landing due to which lives have been saved.

Receiving the information, the district administration reached and shifted the injured pilots and passengers to the medical facilities at Rourkela.

Three passengers were admitted at J.P. Hospital. Two pilots + 1 Pax were rushed to RGH, Rourkela.

As reported, all are under medical treatment/ observation and no fatalities. 

The accident has been informed to Director General Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation and all concerned.

As per the Regulations, Airline shall be reporting the details to the DGCA / Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) for further actions.

Directorate of Civil Aviation (Commerce & Transport Department) is seized the matter and extending all the support to the passengers through district administration and to Airlines as needed.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reviewed the situation and directed the concerned officials to extend all the support from the state to the passengers, pilots and authorities.

Minister, Commerce & Transport is also monitoring the situation constantly.

All 6 members (2 pilots+ 4 pax) are now in JP Hospital, Rourkela.
District administration including the Collector and SP are closely monitoring the situation and extending the necessary support at Rourkela.
