Special Lectures by Eminent Professors Organized at Fakir Mohan University

Balasore | 9 May (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): As part of the university's best practices, Fakir Mohan University recently hosted a significant special lecture series delivered by eminent professors.

Two distinguished professors from the International Management Institute (IMI), Bhubaneswar—Professor Supriti Mishra and Professor Pratyush Banerjee—delivered insightful lectures during the event.

Professor Supriti Mishra, Dean (Academics) at IMI Bhubaneswar, presented a thought-provoking lecture titled “Dissecting the ‘S’ in ESG”, organized by the university’s Postgraduate Department of PM&IR. She discussed the growing relevance of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) parameters in today’s investment decisions, highlighting how mutual funds, brokerage firms, and robo-advisors are now offering ESG-compliant financial products. Her lecture shed light on corporate responsibilities related to environmental sustainability, social impact, and governance policies.

Professor Pratyush Banerjee from IMI Bhubaneswar delivered a lecture on “Qualitative and Mixed-Method Research: Theory and Practice”, hosted by the Postgraduate Department of Computer Science. He emphasized the importance of qualitative research, particularly in Odisha’s tribal regions, where academic inquiry remains limited. He argued that such research can serve as crucial documentation for future developmental planning.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Santosh Kumar Tripathy, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and extended a warm welcome to the guest speakers. He commended the university community for successfully organizing such an enriching academic initiative and stated that, given the university’s location in a tribal-dominated region, such research programs can significantly contribute to social progress.

Professor Bhaskar Behera, Chairman of the Postgraduate Council, was also present and encouraged students and scholars to make the most of these valuable lectures.

Faculty members, researchers, and postgraduate students from various departments actively participated in the sessions.
