Subhadra assistance disbursed to over 4.57 lakh beneficiaries
Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): The Odisha government on Thursday disbursed Subhadra assistance funds to beneficiaries who were earlier left out as well as newly included beneficiaries.
The funds were released at a special programme held in Bhubaneswar.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi transferred more than Rs 325 crore to the bank accounts of over 4.57 lakh beneficiaries under the scheme.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida was present on the occasion.
Of the total, 1,78,398 women were newly covered under the scheme, while 2.55 lakh beneficiaries who had been excluded from the first and second installments also received the assistance.
Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said, "Women’s development is central to the government’s vision."
He stated that Odisha’s goal of becoming a prosperous state by 2036 cannot be achieved without ensuring the progress of women.
Describing Subhadra as a historic initiative, the CM said the scheme is a major step of the state government towards women’s empowerment.
