Bhubaneswar(14/06/2023): The three-day Raja festival celebrating womanhood commenced in Odisha on Wednesday.
The unique festival is all about food and fun.
Like every year, the Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) has made special arrangements to celebrate the festival with traditional fervour.
A variety of pithas such as ‘Poda Pitha’, ‘Kakara’, ‘Manda’, ‘Arisha’, ‘Chakuli’ and ‘Khira Gaja’ have been made available by OTDC at Bhubaneswar Panthanivas for sale.
This apart, three vans called ‘Pitha on Wheels’ have been engaged to make pitha available to the people at different places in Bhubaneswar.
The colourful Raja Doli (swing) installed on the premises of Panthanivas has become one of the major attraction for girls during the festival.
Special arrangements have also been made by different organizations at several places in Bhubaneswar including Patrapada where nearly 300 swings have been installed.
This year, the Sahid Nagar Durga Puja Samiti has organized a grand Raja Mahotsav by setting up swings, food stalls and gaming equipment and arranging cultural programmes .
