Two killed, 10 critical after DJ vehicle comes in contact with 11 KV wire

Bhadrak(15/04/2025): Two people lost their lives and 10 others sustained critical injuries during Patua Jatra at Tihidi block in Bhadrak district. The mishap took place when a DJ vehicle came in contact with an 11 KV electric wire on Monday night. The deceased have been identified as Sarat Mahalik and Manas Mahalik of Arasa village under Tihidi police station. Among the injured are a woman, a child and a minor girl.

They were rushed to the district headquarters hospital.

Three people were later shifted to Tihidi hospital, and the critically injured minor girl was referred to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. The incident took place during a religious procession taken out from Hatuhari to Kantimangala shrine in Nuananda panchayat..
