TWO WOMEN WALKING NAKED IN SUNDARGARH: NHRC SEEKS ACTION TAKEN REPORT FROM DISTRICT COLLECTOR & SP
Bhubaneswar(11/10/2023): The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought an action taken report on walking of naked mother-daughter on road in Sundargarh district. Acting on a petition filed by advocate and human rights activist Radhakanta Tripathy, the NHRC has asked the district collector and SP to submit the report within four weeks. Through the petition, Tripathy had requested the Commission to investigate the case and take immediate steps for their rehabilitation and compensation. The mother-daughter duo aged about 27 and 45 was found walking naked on College Road in Sundargarh town on October 6. Sundargarh BJP MLA Kusum Tete, who was passing through the road, had rescued them.
Subsequently, the woman and her daughter returned to their native place after spending some days at an Astha Gruha.
