Unauthorised servitors attempting to climb chariots will face immediate arrest: Law Minister

Bhubaneswar (By Abhishek Mohanty): Unauthorised servitors attempting to climb chariots during Rath Yatra will face immediate arrest, informed Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Sunday. 

The Minister said, "There will be a complete prohibition on mobile phones usage by servitors atop the chariots during the festival. Allowing mobile phones on chariots compromises the sanctity and security of the event."
Harichandan added that lists of servitors will be prepared for their participation in Pahandi and Ghantua roles. All Nijogs will submit the names of servitors for various duties during Rath Yatra.
