46-feet tall Ganesh idol to be worshipped by Winner Association; Gaja Ratha to become main attraction

Bhubaneswar (By Abhishek Mohanty):
On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the Winner Association, Saheed Nagar, Bhubaneswar will organise the grand Ganesh Mahotsav 2025.

Since 2010, the Vighnaraja Gajanan Puja has been celebrated with peace, discipline, and success. For the past 11 years, it has been known as the first event in Odisha to establish the state’s largest Ganesh idol.

Rather than focusing on external grandeur, special emphasis has always been placed on performing the worship of Lord Ganesh with proper rituals and traditions.

Over the past two years, silver ornaments symbolizing the blessings of Lord Gajanan have been prepared.

This year, the height of the idol will be 46 feet, accompanied by various cultural and entertainment programs. The highlight of this year’s celebration is the installation of Lord Ganesh in the form of “Gajanana on the Elephant Chariot (Gaja Ratha)”.

Another major attraction is the 81-kg Laddu offered to the deity.

In the past decade, Odisha has lost 857 elephants, the biggest cause being electrocution, which has led to an alarming rise in unnatural deaths. To spread awareness and bring change in society, this year’s installation of Lord Gajanan on the Elephant Chariot is the Winner Association’s key initiative towards elephant protection.

This year, devotees will also have the unique opportunity to place a Kalash (sacred pot) in their own names before Lord Gajanan and perform Dubarachana (special worship) by mentioning their name and lineage.

At today’s event, Chief Advisor Umanath Mishra, Advisors Narayan Mohapatra, Saswati Mishra, B. Santosh Kumar Rao, and Niroj Kumar Sahu, along with all members, were present.
