77th Republic Day Celebrated at Chandipur DRDO Range School
Balasore, Jan 27 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with due solemnity and enthusiasm at the Range School campus of DRDO, Chandipur.
The Director of DRDO Chandipur PXE,
Scientist Subodh Kumar Nayak, attended the programme as the chief guest. He unfurled the national flag and took the salute of the combined parade.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest urged students to dedicate themselves to the nation along with pursuing their studies. He said India is the world’s largest democracy and students have a crucial role in taking this great democratic nation forward, as they will grow into responsible citizens and contribute to the country’s progress.
School Secretary and PXE Scientist Ratnakar Sathua Mahapatra spoke on the essence of democracy, stating that democracy upholds equality before law for all, irrespective of caste, religion, or colour. School Principal Dr Pramod Kumar Sa also appealed to students to dedicate themselves to the service of the nation.
Students from the four houses of Range School and the Women’s Football Association participated in the parade. Teams displaying outstanding performances were awarded. Later, students from Range School, Regimental Nursery School, Maharshi Vidya Mandir, and the Women’s Football Association, Chandipur, presented various patriotic cultural programmes.
During the prize distribution ceremony, schools excelling in the parade were awarded, and military officers who trained the parade teams were also felicitated.
Winners of various competitions organised on the occasion of Republic Day were honoured by the chief guest.
On this occasion, scientists from DRDO PXE and ITR Chandipur, along with officials from EMU, MES, Military Wing, Works Project PXE, PMU, Station Workshop, and Range School, were present. Teachers including Sushanta Runa, Tanmaya Nayak, Gitikrushna Das, Laxmipriya Raut, Nitya Niranjan Rautaray, Dr Pratap Keshari Hota, Subhakar Mahanta, Trushna Panigrahi, Sandhya Rani Mahapatra, Krishna Panigrahi, Monalisa Khuntia, Manisa Sahu, Rashmirekha Pattnaik, Subashish Raut, Sandhya Mahapatra, Purnendu Prakash Pati, Saraswati Sahu, Himanshu Jena, Tufan Sahu, Bimal Kumar Jena and others were in attendance.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by teacher Gitikrushna Das.
