77th Republic Day Celebrated with Grandeur at District Level in Balasore

Balasore, 27/1(Krushna Kumar Mohanty) : The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with dignity and patriotic fervour at the district level at the Balasore Police Parade Ground this morning at 8.30 am.
Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Fisheries and Animal Resources Development and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of Odisha, Shri Gokulananda Mallik attended the programme as the chief guest. He unfurled the National Flag and took the salute.

Among the distinguished guests present were Balasore Sadar MLA Shri Manas Kumar Dutta, District Collector Shri Suryabanshi Mayur Vikas, Superintendent of Police Shri Pratyah Dibakar, DIG Shri Pinaki Mishra, Sub-Collector Shri Shiva Malavya, along with senior officials and several eminent citizens.

The celebrations began early in the morning at 4.00 am with the playing of Ramdhun through public address systems across the town. This was followed by flag hoisting at the residence and office of the District Collector, other government offices, and the Press Club, where the District Collector unfurled the National Flag.
At the Police Reserve Ground, after the chief guest hoisted the flag, a ceremonial parade, tableau display, and cultural programmes were held. A total of 54 contingents, comprising police personnel and students from various educational institutions, participated in the parade. Five tableaux, five cultural troupes, and the Mahabir Akhada Sangha also took part in the event.
Meritorious individuals were felicitated with citations, and prizes were awarded to the winning parade contingents and cultural groups.

Later, the Hon’ble Minister and the District Collector visited the flower exhibition and blood donation camp organised by the Rotary Club, and distributed fruits among patients.
In the afternoon, a friendly cricket match was played between the district administration and members of the press.

In the evening, a cultural programme was organised at Gandhi Smruti Bhavan, where winners of painting, speech, and music competitions were felicitated.
The celebrations concluded on a note of unity, pride, and commitment to the ideals of the Constitution.
