Balasore Air Force Association Holds Annual Conference; KIIT and SOA Universities to Extend Educational Support to Children of Retired Air Force Personnel
Balasore, February 9 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): The Balasore Air Force Association held its annual conference yesterday with active participation from its members.
The conference was presided over by the Association’s President, Sibdas Kundu. The annual activity report was presented by the Secretary, Maheswar Behera, while Krushnabandhu Mishra, Treasurer of the Association, placed the annual income and expenditure statement before the house. Gopinath Das, Vice-President, delivered the inaugural address.
On the occasion, senior advisers Pradeep Kumar Mohanty and Muralidhar Patra addressed the gathering and appealed to all members of the Air Force fraternity to remain united and work collectively for common causes.
In his address, the Secretary highlighted the memorandum of understanding signed by the Odisha Air Force Association with KIIT University and SOA University. He explained how this initiative would provide educational support and opportunities to retired Air Force personnel and their children.
Several important issues were discussed during the conference, including the need for a dedicated Association building in Balasore, introduction of chip-enabled identity cards, shortage of medicines at ECHS facilities, and other concerns faced by retired Air Force personnel and their families. Assurance was given that efforts would be made to resolve these issues through coordination with the civil administration and senior defence officials stationed at Chandipur.
The speakers also noted that through various welfare-oriented activities organised in Balasore, the Association has earned the trust and confidence of society at large.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ashok Kumar Das, who expressed gratitude to all members and office-bearers present at the conference.
