On my first visit, I found a true gentleman with a heart warming welcome and a tight hug who is broken from within with the loss of his dearest mother.A souvenir has come out comprising the memoirs on Late Rebati Jena. For once I felt, she was the mother of the entire writers fraternity.In his brief memoir for his mother, revered Satyababu has candidly confessed that he could have rendered more personal service to the departed soul. This is what every ideal human's heart longs for and her teachings to work without aspiring for recognition are cherished and religiously followed by his son. I was not lucky to see his lovely mother but seen her replica in Dr Satyabrata, a gem of a person.
The souvenir is a compiled memoir of eminent writers including Poet Amarendra Khatua, Pinaki Mishra,Phani, Mohanty, Sanghamitra Rayguru and many more. But I was stopped by a comprehensive and well articulated memoir by Editor Krushna Mohanty. Sentences like ' A better society built first within the home, through values passed from mother to child and then extended outward through action' expresses one's regards in volume.
And our sideline chitchat was all on his praises for Mr Krushna Mohanty and his long relationship with Mr Pinaki Mishra both are my familiar faces.
Our meeting left an indelible impact in my mind. And to sum up, Can a writer forget books even at rituals?? He presented me with some books with a smile on his face.
