CHILD DIES AFTER CONSUMING EXPIRED MEDICINES IN GAJAPATI
Paralakhemundi(06/06/2023): A child died after allegedly consuming expired medicines at Jajpur village in Gajapati district. According to reports, the minor boy identified as Sanchit fell ill after consuming medicines supplied by an Anganwadi Centre in the village on April 11.Though, he was cured after treatment, a few days later his health condition deteriorated.When he became serious, his family members took him to several hospitals including Paralakhemundi district headquarters hospital, a Vishakhapatnam-based hospital, AIIMS Bhubaneswar and Cuttack Sishu Bhawan.But the child lost his life during treatment at the Sishu Bhawan last night. Irked over the death of the 11-month-old child, a group of villagers and family members of the deceased staged a road blockade road near the village.They alleged that consumption of expired medicines claimed the life of the child .
