CM Majhi flags safety concerns after Ama Bus tragedy
Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has raised alarms over recurring Ama Bus accidents after a collision near Rupali Square in Bhubaneswar yesterday killed an auto driver and injured a student.
The Chief Minister announced Rs 4 lakh aid from the CM Relief Fund for the bereaved family and wished the student a speedy recovery.
The CM called for stricter safety measures, directing the Transport Department to work with CRUT and enforce regular driver training focused on skill, awareness, and mental and physical fitness. He also ordered routine bus inspections by MVIs and instructed the formation of a dedicated squad to monitor bus safety.
“Regular reviews and safety upgrades are crucial to prevent such incidents in the future,” CM Majhi said.
