CYCLONIC STORM OVER BAY OF BENGAL AROUND NOVEMBER 29
Bhubaneswar (27/11/2023): A cyclonic storm is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal around November 27. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a low pressure area has formed over south Andaman Sea and adjoining Malacca Strait at 8:30 am today.
It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over southeast Bay of Bengal around November 29.
Thereafter the system is likely to move northwestwards and intensify into a cyclonic storm over southeast Bay of Bengal during the subsequent 48 hours. The forecasts made by different weather models suggest that the system may pass through land areas near Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam or Berhampur in south Odisha around December first week.
