Delegation Meets Superintending Engineer on Sundargarh Ring Road Project

Sundargarh, 15 February 2025: A delegation comprising senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leaders and social workers met Smt. Maitryee Parida, Superintending Engineer, Irrigation Department, to discuss the long-awaited Ring Road project, which is expected to address several infrastructural challenges in Sundargarh town.
The delegation included Sri Jay Narayan Tripathy, Senior BJD leader and representative of Sri Jogesh Kumar Singh, MLA Sundargarh, Sri Benudhar Tandia, former Chairman of Sundargarh Municipality, Sri Ashok Mohanty, Senior BJD leader, and Sri Sanjay Pattnayak, a noted social worker.
During the discussion, Smt. Parida informed the delegation that a budget of ₹160 crore is proposed for the project, pending final approval from the Cabinet. She also mentioned that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the renovation of the Cremation Centre at Darbar Ghat, estimated at ₹1.6 crore, has already been prepared by the Sundargarh Municipality.
The renovation of the cremation centre is expected to commence once the DPR for the Ring Road is finalized. The proposed Ring Road project holds significant importance for Sundargarh, as it will help ease traffic congestion, improve connectivity, and enhance overall urban infrastructure.
The delegation expressed optimism about the timely implementation of the project and assured continued efforts to ensure its swift execution for the benefit of the residents of Sundargarh.
