Elderly man dies, nine injured in separate road mishaps
Aska/Angul(27/01/2025): An elderly man died while nine others sustained injuries in two separate road mishaps in Odisha on Monday. The mishap took place at Kesharpalli under Gangpur police station in Ganjam district. The deceased has been identified as Simanchala Swain. Irked over the mishap, locals staged a road blockade by burning tyres. The road blockade affected vehicular movement on Bhanjanagar- Aska road. Another accident occurred near NALCO in Angul district where nine persons sustained critical injuries after a car was hit by a truck from behind. The occupants of the car were returning to Bhuban in Dhenkanal district after darshan of goddess Samaleswari when the incident occurred.
