Fakir Mohan Sahitya Parishad to Confer ‘Sahityashree’ Award on Ramchandra Behera •Young poet Priyanka Priyadarshani Das to receive ‘Uday Pratibha Award’
Balasore, January 4 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): Under the auspices of the Fakir Mohan Sahitya Parishad, the 184th birth anniversary of Kathasamrat Fakir Mohan Senapati and the 79th annual celebration of the Parishad will be observed from January 13 to 16.
On this occasion, 24 distinguished personalities from the fields of literature and culture in Odisha will be felicitated.
This year, the Parishad’s highest honour, the ‘Sahityashree’ Award, will be conferred on eminent fiction writer Professor Ramchandra Behera. Similarly, young writer Priyanka Priyadarshani Das has been selected for the ‘Haji Asraf Ali Uday Pratibha Award’.
Other awardees include Santosh Rath (Essay), Dr Dilip Kumar Swain (Criticism), Indira Dash (Poetry), Arabinda Ray (Short Story), Bhanumati Sahu (Novel), Mihir Meher (Drama), Prashanta Das (Lyric Poetry), Satyanarayan Panda (Translation), Baidanka Baba (Satirical Literature), Suchitra Panigrahi (Children’s Literature), Srikanta Chatterjee (Journalistic Literature), Gyanaranjan Pati (Jagannath Culture Literature), Maitrayee Kamila (Literary Organisation), Sushanta Nayak (Magazine Editing), Santosh Patra (Literature and Social Service), Sindhu Sen (Spiritual Literature), Pushpanjali Kar (Travel Writing), Pratibha Das (Autobiography), Anindita Das (Music), Manoranjan Panda (Instrumental Music), Jayakrushna Panigrahi (Science Literature), and Kedar Nayak (Fine Arts).
For this year, senior member of the Parishad Prashanta Mahanty will be honoured with the ‘Parishad Gourav’ title.
The four-day programme will feature literary sessions, various competitions, a youth festival, and theatrical performances, according to a press release issued by the Parishad.
