Female elephant found dead in Similipal
Karanjia (22/12/2024): A female elephant was found dead at Baliadhipa in Similipal National Park of Mayurbhanj district on Sunday. The exact cause of the elephant death is unknown.
Bangriposi Ranger Maheshwar Singh said the reason for the death will be determined after the post-mortem. Locals initially spotted the carcass and informed the Forest department.
The animal, estimated to be about five years old, was found collapsed and unresponsive. Veterinary experts along with Forest staff, arrived at the spot and started investigation.
