FIRST WORLD NATURE AWARENESS DAY OBSERVED IN GANJAM'S BABANPUR
Aska (23/11/2023): Nature is God and the oxygen and water provided by it are nectar for us.
If nature survives, creation will survive.
So in present times everyone must make a concerted effort to save the nature.
With these thoughts, the first World Nature Awareness Day was observed at Babanpur under Aska block in Ganjam district on November 10, 2023 under the Debashis Programme. Padmashri Dr.Tulasi Munda, Principal Health Scientist Professor Dr.Ashok Mohapatra, Aska MLA Manjula Swain, Lawyer Suresh Kumar Panda and Lawyer Surendra Nath Panda were the guests in the event coordinated by Sanjay Kumar Nayak, founder of Green Organic Development (GOD), a volunteer organization.
Ajit Patnaik, Adviser of Aska Branch of Sahityaghara, Social Worker Aarti Devi, Lucy Mohanty, Anil Kumar Nayak, Vijay Nayak, all ward members, Samtishavya Satya Jena and Manas Gaud actively participated and resolved to worship the Mother Nature. On this occasion, Sanskrit researcher and columnist Gurcharan Das, lawyer Ratikant Pratihari arrived from Puri with the commandments of Jagannath, Nakchana attached to his head and patipavan bow, Sanjay Kumar Nayak and Aarti Devi, devotees of Prakrit Mata, left the village in a huge procession and reached the foothills of Gargada Hills, the shrine of Pratihari Dham Moksha.
Later, Mother Nature was worshiped and sacrificed there.
Padmashri Tulasi Munda worshiped the Mother Nature as the primary worshiper.
After returning from there, a conference was held in the village.
It was expressed in this program that the development of civilization can be more dynamic and meaningful if there is emotional harmony between man, nature, God and science. Child environmentalist Subarna Priyadarshini Nayak, Ex- Army officer Padma Charan Nayak, Manoj Nayak and advocate Mahendra Swain were also present .
