Four arrested for duping medical aspirants

Bhubaneswar(03/05/2025): The Special Crime Unit of Commissionerate Police arrested four persons on charges of duping medical aspirants under the pretext of arranging admissions in private medical colleges. The police seized a cheque worth Rs 94 lakh and a blank bank cheque from the accused. According to Commissioner of Police S.Dev Datta Singh, the accused are members of an inter-state fraud racket.
The group included one person each from Jharkhand and Bihar, and two from Odisha. The fraudsters allegedly took money from NEET aspirants by making false promises of providing admission into private medical colleges.
They claimed they could provide dummy candidates to appear for the NEET (UG) exam on behalf of the aspirants. The NEET UG 2025 will be held nationwide on May 4, between 2 PM and 5 PM in a single shift.
