G20 LEADERS PAY TRIBUTES TO MAHATMA GANDHI
New Delhi(10/09/2023): The G20 leaders and other Heads of international organisations paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi and laid a wreath at Rajghat in New Delhi on Sunday. United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres and IMF Head Kristalina Georgieva were among the first to reach the venue. Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the dignitaries with an 'angrakha'. After paying tributes to Gandhiji, the leaders signed on the 'Peace Wall' at the Leaders' Lounge. The opening day of the G20 Summit witnessed several crucial developments, including the 100 percent consensus on the Delhi Declaration, formal induction of the African Union to the group, a biofuel alliance and the announcement of India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor.
