Historic Decision by Balasore District Collector: DJ Music Banned by District Administration in Key Meeting

An emergency meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Collector Suryabanshi Mayur Vikas and SP Pratyush Dibakar.

As per the discussions in the meeting, no DJ will be allowed during the second phase and onwards of Ganesh Puja immersion scheduled for Sunday and Monday. Any DJ owner, pandal committee, or club violating this order will face legal action. In addition, DJ vehicles, sound systems, and other equipment will be seized, and the concerned organizers will be blacklisted.

It may be recalled that the first phase of immersion took place on Friday. During that time, loud DJ music was played near the second gate of the District Headquarters Hospital, causing serious inconvenience to patients. Commuters also faced difficulties on the road. Citizens strongly objected, questioning how such high-volume DJ music was permitted in a medical lane, which is officially declared a Silence Zone.

Following today’s meeting, the district administration has taken a firm decision that no DJ will be allowed during immersion processions. This decision has been widely welcomed by the public.
