KHUSHIYON KA GHAR OLD AGE HOME RECEIVES DIWALI CHEER FROM SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY CELL OF XIMB AND ROTARY CLUB OF BHUBANESWAR CENTENNIAL
Bhubaneswar(16/11/2023): In honour of the auspicious festival of Diwali, the Social Responsibility Cell of the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) showed its dedication to community welfare by planning a touching social drive for the elderly inhabitants of the "Khushiyon Ka Ghar Old Age Home", Patia. Twenty committed volunteer students from XIM Bhubaneswar went to the "Khushiyon Ka Ghar Old Age Home" to cheer up the residents.
In keeping with the Diwali spirit, the students not only brought groceries and sweets, but they also brought the warmth of compassion and love. The volunteers transformed the elderly people's home into a festive haven by decorating it with colorful diyas, elaborate rangoli, and brilliant lights in the true spirit of Diwali.
The careful decorations were intended to make the inmates feel happy and festive, as many of them would not have had the chance to celebrate Diwali in this way for many years. The students' sincere interaction with the senior citizens was what made this drive unique.
To create a sense of understanding and connection, the volunteers spent time listening to the elderly stories and experiences.
Students also witnessed the beautiful Handicraft items made by one of the elderly which they deeply appreciated.
With such insights and experiences imparted, the meaningful chats not only made the elderly smile but also gave meaningful lessons to the student volunteers. The students acknowledged the unique requirements of the elderly and in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar Centennial distributed shawls and other necessities as a sign of their dedication to having a real influence.
This gesture of generosity showed a profound knowledge of the difficulties experienced by the older folks in addition to offering physical comfort. The effort of the Social Responsibility Cell demonstrated the effectiveness of group action in building a welcoming and positive community and fulfilling the committee’s social responsibility objective.
The Diwali celebration was made even more memorable for the inhabitants of the "Khushiyon Ka Ghar Old Age Home," who were shown genuine care and respect and received tangible gifts. This inspiring event encourages other educational institutions and community welfare organizations to actively participate in community service and make a positive impact on the society.
It is a beacon of inspiration.
