Major fire breaks out at stockyard of firm in Paradip

Paradip (Abhishek Mohanty): A major fire broke out at the stockyard of a company engaged in the pipeline work of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Paradip town on Monday.

Pipes worth over crores of rupees were stored in the stockyard for the IOCL project at the port town. The thick coatings of plastic and tarpaulin on pipes make them vulnerable to fire.

The IOCL, Paradip Port Trust, Paradip Phosphates Limited, IFFCO and local administration launched an operation to douse the flames.

As many as seven fire engines swung to extinguish the blaze.
