Major fire breaks out in Pipili, 30 houses reduced to ashes

Pipili (27/08/2024): More than 30 houses belonging to 15 families at Alisa village under Satyabadi block in Puri district were reduced to ashes after a major fire broke out in the village late on Monday night. The fire broke out at around 1:40 am at one of the houses and subsequently, it spread to other houses.

Properties worth lakhs of rupees got damaged. While one person sustained critical burn injuries in the mishap, the flame claimed the lives of three cattle. Though the exact reason behind fire mishap is not known, it is suspected that an electric short circuit might have caused the flames. Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and douse the flames.
