Maoist leader Bijaya Punem surrenders before Rayagada SP

Rayagada (By Abhishek Mohanty): Notorious Maoist leader Bijaya Punem surrendered before Rayagada SP Swetha S Kumar on Tuesday.
Bijay, a resident of Chhattisgarh, was a prominent member of the Bansadhara-Ghumusar- Nagavali Division's Ghumsar Area Committee. 

He was wanted in several criminal cases and involved in Naxal incidents across Malkangiri, Koraput, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Boudh, Kandhamal and Rayagada.
The government had announced a cash reward of Rs 4 lakh for his capture.
At the time of surrender, Bijaya was carrying a pistol and eight rounds of ammunition.
