NABANNA OFFERED TO MAA SAMALESWARI
Sambalpur(20/09/2023): The Nabanna (new rice) was offered to Maa Samaleswari, the presiding deity of Sambalpur, on the occasion of Nuakhai festival. Servitors offered the Nabanna, a pudding prepared from newly harvested paddy between 10:27 am and 10:42 am. After consuming the Nabanna, people observed Juhar Bhetghat (juniors offer pranam to seniors and embrace each other as mark of respect and affection).
