No further extension of paddy procurement deadline: Minister

Bhubaneswar (By Abhishek Mohanty): The Odisha government has set June 30 as the deadline for Rabi paddy procurement. Supply Minister Krishna Chandra Patra stated that the state has already procured 17.43 lakh metric tons of Rabi paddy, exceeding last year's procurement of 12.40 lakh metric tons. With only a few days left, the procurement process is being expedited.

The Minister said, "June 30 is the final date for Rabi paddy procurement. June 30 is also the last date for completing E-KYC for food security cards."

The state government will provide assistance to farmers affected by unseasonal rains, he added.
