Nor'wester rain in Odisha for five more days
Bhubaneswar (03/05/2025): Nor'wester rain is likely to lash several parts of Odisha for five more days.
The Nor'wester locally known as Kalabaisakhi brought in much-needed respite from the scorching heat and temperature fell by 5 to 10 degrees all over the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching 50-60 kmph in the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurabhanj and Sundargarh for the next 24 hours. Similar weather condutions are expected to prevail across the state until May 7. In the light of the severe weather conditions, the IMD has advised the residents to stay Indoors during thunderstorms and avoid open fields. It has been advised to avoid sheltering under trees during lightning activities.
