Odisha Bhawan in New Delhi declared 'structurally unsafe'

Bhubaneswar (09/09/2024): The Odisha Bhawan in New Delhi has been declared 'structurally unsafe'.

The Odisha government has decided to demolish it over safey issues.

A new structure will come up in the next two years. Experts appointed by the state government inspected Odisha Niwas, Odisha Sadan and Odisha Bhawan in New Delhi.

The team found Odisha Bhawan in unsafe condition and recommend the government for its demolition. On April 19, 2022, an inspection report suggested it's demolition in two to three years.

Based on the report, the fresh inspection was carried out on August 28, 2024.

This time the report stated that Odisha Bhawan is unsafe for living.
