Odisha Police channelled all resources towards eliminating menace of Naxalism: DGP
Bhubaneswar(23/01/2025): The Odisha Police has channelled all its resources towards eliminating menace of Naxalism from the state, said DGP YB Khurania. The DGP informed that the security forces had a major success on 20th and 21st January in Nuapada-Gariband border from where a large number of Maoists were neutralized including Chalapathi, who was a central committee member.
A large amount of firearms were seized.
The operation involved SOG of Odisha Police, Special forces of Chhattisgarh Police, CRPF and CoBRA.
It was a well-planned and coordinated operation.
On January 20-21, 14 bodies were recovered along with a large number of arms and ammunition." He stated, "Yesterday, a few bodies, firearms and other materials were also recovered.
Yesterday, I visited Kalahandi and Nuapada and reviewed the situation on the ground.
Operations are being carried out daily depending upon available intelligence inputs.
We are keeping a very close watch on the developments on the ground.".
