ODISHA TABLEAU SHOWCASED IN REPUBLIC DAY PARADE IN DELHI WINS FIRST PRIZE
Bhubaneswar (29/01/2024): Odisha's tableau that participated in the Republic Day parade in Delhi has been adjudged the best among the tableaux of states/UTs.
This year, the Odisha tableau featured a model of the heritage crafts village of Raghurajpur with messages on women empowerment. The tableau participated after three years. Every artisan and others, who were part of the tableau, had worked hard in freezing cold conditions in Delhi.
There were 32 people in the team including carpenters, pattachitra painters, and artists.
Fourteen children were part of the dance troupe. Apart from Odisha, the tableau of Gujarat won the first prize in the people’s choice category.
The tableau of the Ministry of Culture has been adjudged the best tableau amongst ministries and departments.
