Online Auto Service comes to grinding halt in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): Online auto-rickshaw services remained suspended in Bhubaneswar following a dispute between online and station auto drivers.

Members of the Smart City Auto Drivers’ Association staged a protest in front of the Capital Police Station, alleging that some station auto drivers assaulted online drivers.

The dispute reportedly occurred a day before Gajalaxmi Puja over picking up passengers. After the incident, a complaint was lodged at the Kharavel Nagar Police Station, leading to the arrest of a few members from both groups.

Demanding the release of innocent drivers and strict action only against those responsible for the assault, the protesters parked their autos in front of the police station and held a sit-in demonstration.
