Review Meeting Held on Balasore Municipality Delimitation
Balasore, 14/10 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): A review meeting on the delimitation of Balasore Municipality was held at the District Collector’s Conference Hall, Balasore. The meeting was chaired by the Project Director of the Balasore DRDA.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Remuna and Balasore MLAs, a representative of the Balasore MP, the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Balasore Municipality, executive officers, and the Sarpanches of the concerned Gram Panchayats.
As per the preliminary proposal, two Gram Panchayats from Balasore Block and seven Gram Panchayats from Remuna Block were discussed for inclusion within the Balasore Municipality limits.
The meeting also discussed the possibility of including additional Gram Panchayats and areas under Balasore Municipality. Following deliberations, the proposed Gram Panchayats/areas under consideration were: Patrapada and Sargao from Sadar Block; Haripur, Balia, Bhimpura, Karanjia, Kuruda, Saraswatipur, and Dahapada from Remuna Block.
Additional areas discussed included the entire Remuna NAC, Alupur Gram Panchayat, Nagaram Gram Panchayat, part of Ganguti Gram Panchayat, part of Hidigaon Gram Panchayat, and part of Ranasahi Gram Panchayat.
It was decided that a comprehensive survey and detailed data collection would be conducted before finalizing the new proposal. All officials and public representatives provided important inputs during the meeting, and it was resolved to carry forward the delimitation process in a more organized and structured manner.
