PEOPLE THRONG BINDUSAGAR LAKE IN BHUBANESWAR TO OFFER PAYA SRADDHA
Bhubaneswar (12/11/2023): People in large numbers thronged Bindusagar Lake in Bhubaneswar to offer Paya Sraddha to their ancestors. In Puri, lakhs of devotees thronged Srimandir and lit 'Kaunria Kathi' (jute sticks) in front of Singhadwara while chanting 'Badabadua Ho Andharare Aasa, Aalua Re Jao' (Oh forefathers, come in darkness and go back in light) and offered Paya Sraddha in the occasion of Diwali. It is believed that the spirits of our forefathers visit the earth on Mahalaya and return to their heavenly abode after receiving Paya Shraddha on Diwali.
