New Delhi (08/03/2024): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced a cut of Rs 100 per cylinder in cooking gas prices on the occasion of International Women's Day. The announcement aims to alleviate the financial burden on households, especially women.
This comes a day after the government extended the subsidy of Rs 300 per LPG cylinder to poor women under the Ujjwala Yojana for the upcoming fiscal year, starting April 1. The PM said, "By making cooking gas more affordable, we also aim to support the well-being of families and ensure a healthier environment.
This is in line with our commitment to empowering women and ensuring 'Ease of Living for them.".
