• Basanta Muduli Memorial Ceremony to be held in Bhubaneswar on November 2

Balasore, Oct 3 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): Poet Amarendra Madhab Dash has been selected for the Basanta Muduli Poetry Award (Basanta Muduli Kabita Puraskar) 2025, instituted by the Basanta Muduli Smruti Sansad (BMSS) in memory of the late poet Basanta Muduli.
The award selection meeting, presided over by BMSS President Pabitra Panigrahi, was attended by former President Rajanikant Mohanty, Convener Arun Khilar, Working President Nirakar Das, Vice-President Kishore Panigrahi, Joint Secretary Amitabh Khilar, the poet’s son Parthasarathi Muduli, along with other members.
Out of the recommendations received from 43 senior poets of the state, Amarendra Madhab Dash’s name was finalized.
Born in 1978, Amarendra is the author of seven poetry collections. Among them, Dher Rati Helani, Kanda Kanda Manisha, Chitra Anku-thiba Pua, Sabda, Ayodhya, and Kabita Dhadi Bahare have earned him wide readership. An alumnus of Utkal University with a postgraduate degree, he has earlier been conferred the Yuva Kabi Samman and the Subrat Rath Samman by the Gangadhar Rath Foundation.
Amarendra’s poetry carries the unspoken voices of the marginalized, their rightful claims, entitlements, and hopes. It celebrates humanism while spreading rays of optimism. In its gentle protest, his verse resonates with the spirit of human values.
This year, the state-level award will be formally presented to him at the Basanta Muduli Memorial Ceremony scheduled for November 2 in Bhubaneswar, BMSS Secretary Krushna Kumar Mohanty announced in a press release.
