Balasore, 30/06 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): A preparatory meeting was recently held at the Gaurishankar Kalyan Mandap in Remuna for the upcoming 11th Remuna Navamatruka Puja, presided over by Dr. Bhagabata Prasad Das, Chairman of the organising committee. The meeting outlined plans for this year’s celebration, which will culminate in the worship of nine eminent and revered mothers from Northern Odisha on the sacred day of Mahanavami, falling on October 1st.
In the meeting, cultural organiser and lead convener Keshudas reviewed last year’s proceedings and presented the vision for this year’s event. As per the committee’s resolution, nine distinguished mothers representing Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar districts will be chosen and honoured in a traditional ceremonial fashion, continuing the legacy of past Navamatruka Pujas.
The committee also underwent a reformation in its leadership structure. Odisha Government’s Chief Whip and Remuna MLA Govind Chandra Das was appointed as Chief Advisor. Dhirendra Nath Mahapatra, Girish Kumar Sadangi, Basanti Das, and Kamalakanta Das were nominated as Vice Chairpersons. Artist Keshudas was reaffirmed as the Secretary, while Bansidhar Dalei took charge as Joint Secretary.
Several prominent community members attended and actively participated in the meeting, including Prabhakar Sahu, Sunamani Jena, Ajay Barik, Jadunath Giri, Pradeep Giri, Tapan Kumar Das, Padmalochan Panda, Hiralal Pakal, Harekrushna Giri, Shrikant Das, Sudhakar Sethi, Stalin Mishra, Pradeep Mishra, Debasish Pati, Shubham Raut, Santosh Panda, Asit Das Mangaraj, Rajat Nayak, Bana-mali Sahu, and Jogesh Chandra Behera, among others. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Radha Ranjan Das.
The upcoming event promises to be a heartfelt tribute to womanhood and cultural values, fostering regional pride and unity through spiritual devotion.
