Bhubaneswar(24/11/2024): The Propack Odisha & Odisha Plast exhibition concluded on a highly successful note, drawing attention to the vast potential that Odisha holds in the packaging, plastics, and printing industries.
The event attracted an impressive footfall of approximately 1,00,000 visitors and has proven to be a major business catalyst for the sector. The closing ceremony was graced by Swami Prem Anveshi, MD & chairman FuturexP.K Gupta, Director & HOO, Ministry of MSME DGO, Government of India Gouri Shankar Das, Chairman, OASME Satwik Swain, Secretary general (Hony.) OASME, Jyotrimayee Mohanty, Chairwoman, Woman wing OASME, Ranjit Kumar Sahu, Vice Chairman, OASME Adikanda Rout, Secretary, Finance, OASME.
All the members of OASME were present on this occasion.
With an expected business value of Rs 35 Crores and long-term projections pointing toward Rs 60 Crores in the coming months, the exhibition has significantly underscored Odisha’s role as an emerging hub for packaging and plastics.
The event was a key platform for industry leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to showcase the latest trends, explore new technologies, and forge strategic business partnerships. The event also saw an encouraging response from the youth of Odisha, with 6,800 educated young individuals expressing their willingness to venture into entrepreneurship within the packaging, plastic, and printing sectors.
This demonstrates the growing enthusiasm and potential for innovation within the state, which is increasingly recognized as a favourable destination for investment in these industries. Exhibitors already booked their stalls for Propack Odisha 2025, reflecting the growing success and significance of this annual event.
The positive feedback and high level of interest in next year’s exhibition further demonstrate the expanding role of Odisha in the national and international packaging and plastics markets. Speaking on this occasion Satwik Swain, General Secretary, OASME said, “We are delighted with the success of the exhibition. The overwhelming response from exhibitors, visitors, and entrepreneurs highlights the huge potential of Odisha in the packaging and plastics sectors." OASME (Odisha Association of Small and Medium Enterprises) also expressed their sincere gratitude to both the State and Central governments for their unwavering support in organizing the exhibition for the third consecutive year.
