Ragging at MKCG Medical College & Hospital: 5 senior students expelled from hostel

Berhampur (02/11/2024): Five senior students accused of ragging their juniors at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur of Ganjam district have been expelled from the hostel forever. The punishment was imposed on the five students after a thorough investigation conducted by the anti-ragging committee into the ragging allegations.
The he five students have also been barred from any kind of scholarships, fellowship, and other facilities provided by the prestigious medical institute. Earlier, the five were barred from entering the medical campus for six months. Many second-year students have accused their seniors of switching off the hostel lights and beating them up, abusing them and even forcing them to dance.
The students further alleged that they were being brutally thrashed by the seniors whenever they tried to resist the torture.
