SANKALPA PATHA RELEASED FOR CHILD RIGHTS IN AQEEQA CEREMONY IN BHADRAK
Bhadrak(20/12/2023): The Aqeeqa or Mundan ceremony of Sara and Soha, twins daughter of Dr.Muhammad Imran Ali, noted social worker and Sohana Begum, Programme Manager, Zilla Parishad, Jajpur is organised in Biju Pattnaik Kalyan Mandap, Bhadrak.
Hundreds of people from different parts of Odisha have joined the ceremony.
In this ceremony, a special Sankalpa Patha is released by the family of the children.
The Sankalpa Patha includes "I pledge to never tolerate gender inequality in my life.
I will never discriminate against any girl.
I will oppose the dowry system.
I will be proud of my daughter as much as I am proud of my son.
I shall never check gender during pregnancy.
I will educate my child irrespective of gender.
Rather, I will wear cheap clothes, I shall compromise with my lifestyle , but I will educate my children, especially girls, and make them self-reliant.
I shall be more responsible for the children with disability.
I shall give time to the children instead of mobile phone in my family.
I will focus on the education and reformation of children.
I shall never allow child marriage and shall not encourage child beggary or child labour in my surroundings.
I shall never send any child to bring tobacco stuff.
I shall ensure drug free environment for every child.
I shall keep the children away from packed or junk food rather serve them homely cooked and nutritious food.
I shall try to feed naturally grown food rather than chemical or pesticides loaded food.
I shall try to make a good citizen for the country and the world.
God give me the strength". Dr.Imran and Sohana Begum mentioned that the Sankalpa Patha aims at creating greater awareness for the rights of children, especially for the girls, children with disabilities and we try to sensitise the people against child labour, child beggary and other violations of human rights.
We try to create a safe, drug free and healthy atmosphere for the children, we focus to encourage naturally grown food for the children, the family remarks.
The people who attended the ceremony have appreciated.
