Shree Jagannath Sanskruti Prachar Sansthan to hold collective prayer programme for welfare of world on January 1
Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): On the first day of the New Year 2026, a collective prayer programme for the welfare of the world titled “Let Us All Pray with One Voice—O Lord Jagannath, Protect Us” will be held. This collective prayer event is being organized by the Shree Jagannath Sanskruti Prachar Sansthan at Utkal Rangamanch, Jayadev Vihar, Bhubaneswar.
Shree Jagannath Culture Promoter Dr Narayan Mohapatra said, "Devotion to Lord Jagannath is the highest truth. Our state, the nation, and the world are passing through a critical phase. Human minds are enveloped by sorrow, fear, terror, anxiety, doubt, suspicion, and mistrust. Keeping the welfare of all in mind, Shreema Swami Dibya Swaroopa Saraswati had earlier called upon people to observe the first day of the New English Year as World Prayer Day, a tradition that has been observed continuously for the last seven years.
Honouring this call, we invoke Lord Jagannath with the prayer “Let us all call upon Lord Jagannath with one voice—Protect us.” Lord Jagannath is our presiding deity and we are known across the world through Him. Let us come together to have the darshan of Mahaprabhu Lord Jagannath’s Chaturdha Murti at Utkal Rangamanch, Odissi Research Centre, Jayadev Vihar, Bhubaneswar, on the first day of the New English Year, from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and receive His blessings. We must understand that neglecting Mahaprabhu leads to the decline of our culture, promotes misinformation, and weakens our traditions. Therefore, this is our appeal to the youth, middle-aged citizens, and respected elders: let us responsibly fulfil the duty entrusted to us by our ancestors and guide future generations on the right path. The time has come to unite and prevent the erosion of our culture, to use modern technology for the propagation and promotion of Mahaprabhu, and to create a distinct identity for ourselves across the world."
At the meeting, Er. Rabi Narayan Mahapatra, Umanath Mishra, Trilochan Nayak, Bhagaban Das, Ashok Bala, Saswati Mishra, Pramodini Panda, Tanmay Jena, Akshay Sahu, Bijay Panda, Srinibas Rao, and others were present.
