No name on the page, no author in sight,
But these words glow softly, with quiet light.
A mother gives us breath and birth,
A father shapes our place on earth.
Nine months nestled in her embrace,
Twenty-five years on his shoulders we trace.
Still somehow, in life’s grand play,
The father stays hidden, fades away.
She stirs the pot with love each day,
He buys the groceries, walks away.
Her love — a song the heart can hear,
His — like roots, strong and unclear.
She’s the warmth we always seek,
He’s the strength, the silent peak.
The first we call, the name we shout,
The second — always left out.
She wears her silks, her bangles shine,
He reuses shirts, says, “I’m fine.”
Her wishes bloom and draw a crowd,
He buries dreams, speaks not aloud.
No glitter, no gold, no jeweled parade,
Just a worn ring that never fades.
He toils all day, no need for praise,
One smile from us — it makes his days.
But when his hands grow old and sore,
They say, “He’s of no use anymore.”
Yet that same man, tired and gray,
Holds up the roof in his quiet way.
He never sought the center stage,
Just watched us bloom, age by age.
For love like his needs no display —
It builds the home, then steps away.
