TRADITIONAL RAJA CELEBRATION IN BHUBANESWAR ON JUNE 15
Bhubaneswar (10/06/2023): With a view to keep the age-old tradition of Raja festival tradition alive, social organisations Jai Maa Bhabani Charitable Trust and Divya Diganta have joined hands to celebrate the traditional Raja Mahotsav on June 15, 2023 (Raja Sankranti) at Guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra Odissi Research Center at Jaydev Vihar, Bhubaneswar from 9 am to 3 pm. On this day, Odissi dance, Raja Doli will be installed at the venue.
This apart, Raja Paan, traditional pithas (cakes), traditional food, Puchi Khela (traditional game of girls), will be the major attractions. This year, two eminent personalities of Odisha-Dr Bidyut Das and Dr Krushna Keshab Sarangi- will be honoured with the prestigious Utkal Shree Samman.
Besides, the Seva Ratna Samman will be conferred on distinguished persons who have contributed towards development of the state. This was highlighted at a preparatory meeting held on Saturday in Bhubaneswar.
Secretary of Jai Maa Bhawani Charitable Trust Dr Narayan Mohapatra, Treasurer Umanath Mishra, Advisor Er.Dillip Pattanayak, members Bipin Bihari Sahu, Ranjan Kumar Samal, Manoj Kumar Roul, Srinivas Rao, Achyuta Prasad Behera and Anil Kumar Panda attended the meeting. From Dibya Diganta, Jay Prakash Mishra and Mamata Biswal were present.
